Wycombe Wanderers v West Ham United
Anyone going on Tuesday? Reckon the most likely time I'll see a WHU eleven win!

On my own, so pub recommendations welcome.

Wasn't Pike playing out of position at center back rather than right back ?

Thinkmi said on here on the night i liked the look of Sylvestre. The pick of the bunch for me. Was looking forward to watching Pike. I think he got beaten in every challenge. Just hope it was an off night. Really enjoyed the second half and but for a couple of saves by the behemoth in goal for wycombe , we could have been right back in it. That keeper is on loan from Chelsea and a steward told me is on £13k a week. Jamal Blackman or something

Re: Wycombe Wanderers v West Ham United
After a fews days of reflection I am going to put my tuppence worth in.
Right from the fist minute when they had a set play, ball swung in they hit the post you knew this was going to be a struggle every time we gave away a free kick or corner.
After the second free kick from a identical place the Monster scored into a empty net.It was clear to see that our central defenders or keeper had no answer.
We then seem to change our tactics, defend higher and as the half wore on we more than grew into the game with our lads moving the ball forward quickly, mostly along the deck and our wide players not being frightened to take defenders on. We missed Martinez who not only is a physical presence but also holds the ball up well.By half time although Wycombe had several good chances all 160 West Ham fans were eagerly awaiting the second half.
Alas almost from the start one of our defenders slipped allowing for the Wycombe player to go through unchallenged to score. They scored a worldly 10 or so minutes later.
So on a positive note we have some very good players going forward, I felt Browne had a great game,he was consistently fouled and everyone of their Back four and two substitutes were all booked thats how dangerous that boy is when he starts running and beating players. The other player that caught my eye was Noha Sylvester
defended on the right side very well and was very good on the ball again decent at that Right Back[Wing Back]position .
Negatives we did not score and we had several good chances. We have a few players who are keen but lack that skill and guile to make the next level,we obviously were out muscled but not out skilled and I felt we were not brave enough in defence in particular I thought our keeper had a nightmare and did not create a lot of confidence to the lads in front of him.
Other 2 pluses ,our fans were very vocal, singing some great songs even one about DiCanio very entertaining even the Wycombe stewards seem to enjoy it. I got there early thinking it was a 7.00 kickoff wandered into what seemed like a club room had a great homemade chicken dish[big helping] pint of strong lager all for about a tenner well done Wycombe and the natives were very friendly too

Marcus Browne is a good player but his finishing needs improvement.
Sam Howes' goalkeeping was poor. I'm not surprised Nathan Trott has moved ahead of him.

What it showed was we are only playing our u23 team not like others who are fielding players like charlie Adams. We have some good young players out on loan and some on international duty. Yet I thought it was good experience for many playing such a physical team as Wycombe and second half we looked excellent. 4 or 5 of them were very good , marcus Browne looked very good.

This game could be a bit of a banana skin for if Wycombe aren't careful.

What this competition shows is that we are not developing players that are able to step up and compete against men.
Bring back the old Football Combination.

We should go to these games? Nerd, we've only got one more game left at Northampton and we're out of it. Shouldn't have entered the competition, what a joke.

I went tonight with my daughter, just got back . Good laugh. Our lot beat by power and a weak ref, but enjoyable . Some should go these games it's what it will be like at afc irons or whatever they call it.

I see that in the Checkatrade Trophy Sunderland and Middlesborough are in a Southern Group, whilst Reading and Portsmouth are in a Northern Group. I think some daft cunt had the map upside down when doing the draw.
